Griff Newman Productions is casting in Atlanta, GA the week of April 8, 2010.
Details:
We are casting for 3 roles in an independent film to be shot in the Atlanta, GA area.
Casting will be held at the Omni in Atlanta on April 8, 9 and 10, 2010. (Casting call will be April 8th with call-backs on April 9th and Screen Testing on April 10th).
There is NO FEE for your participation in this casting process. NO FEES or CHARGES will ever be asked. You will be paid for your work if you are cast in one of the roles we have available.
The scale pay for this independent project is $225 per day plus craft services and accomodations if needed.
We are role specific in our needs, please read the following carefully before you submit.

Must have experience or be a photography student and have own gear (DSLR). Basically come in around 11 stay till close (2am) and walk arounnd and snap pics of people, groups of friends etc...usually get about 200 shots of people for the night. Pics are uploaded the next morning to a website which people can go and get their pics to use for social networking sites, myspace/facebook etc... the pay is $75 for the night. If you are a no nonsense looking huge and average sized man that is muscular with deep voice and a hard manner about you in a natural way...I would like to see you regarding this movie I am planning to shoot....
You must have violence under control for the camera and to ad lib a scene and make it work for you.....I need those who could speak Italian or speak with heavy Italian accents and or NY accents....if you have a loud motorcycle that helps....it has to be here in sarasota...
You need to walk and talk with a swagger in your step....your mere presence shows you "mean business" and not someone to fool with......
I want to make a movie that shows the mob life of a soldier on the street...not the life of the capos and don's but the hard solitary scary life of the soldier the button man.....
you do not need any experience...I am looking for 25-30 men for this movie.....if the movie makes money...we all will make great money......a movie like this has never been made before.....no women....just very hard scary looking men.....who mean business and can control themselves during improv type shoots.......take it to the edge but don't step over it......

I am looking to set up a nonprofit Short Film Production Company. I have always wanted to be involved in film and I know there are others out there that share the same feelings. I came up with an idea of creating a nonprofit corporation where we would just do Short Films for fun and maybe festivals. I think it's a great idea and would be a lot of fun! Before I throw money into getting it incorporated I am looking for interest from people. To create the company I would need the following;
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors will meet at least 3 times a year and discuss the company, it's finances, admin, etc.
Treasure - Someone with a accounting background
Secretary - Someone with a admin background
People with an interest and somewhat experience in;
Producing
Script Supervision
Directing
Writing
People with EQUIPMENT and somewhat experience in;
Camera - HD
Lighting
Grip Work

Right now the goal I am thinking about would be meeting around once a week and discussing films and then actually shoot them. Looking for people from the ages of 18 to 35. Being that there are cost involved in making films we will have to have some type of membership fee, which will be as low as we can, however hopefully if members have their own equipment that will significantly reduce the funds needed. My thoughts right now would be around $150/year. Maybe we can do some good and create some PSA's for nonprofits in the area. ALL positions are volunteer.
