Casting Call for the artist “Illz” for “ In between Us” Off the Pursuit LP
http://theillz. bandcamp. com/track/ in-between- us

After months of recording, the highly anticipated "The Pursuit LP" is finally here. Hip-Hop artist The ILLZ delivers 11 solid tracks, all with their own unique, emotional journeys. Fans will recognize internet sensations "Heaven (Higher)" and "Melfi", as well as "Prelude to the Sickness" featured on DJBooth.net' s freestyle series. In true ILLZ fashion, the album is a mix of eclectic, alternative/ rock-tinged beats with a few surprises thrown into the mix, such as the New York club-scene flavored, "Let it Fall" and the gritty, Hip-Hop underground track "Dark Side of the Room". Fans and skeptics alike will see a wide range of emotion, depth of character, and full spectrum of what Hip-Hop music can be.

Looking for an actress with screen experience to play the girlfriend to the artist. Your character will be going through a break up with the artist and there will be different scenarios expressed throughout the video showing the ups and downs of relationships. Substitute Dreams: A New Musical
NYC, 29-Hour Staged Reading Guidelines

Those contacted with an appointment (for Matthew & Morgan) should prepare 2 contrasting 32-bar cuts (one traditional and one contemporary) that show vocal range, personality, and strong commitment to material.

Those contacted to audition for The Man should prepare a short contemporary monologue (NOT from a musical) and may also be asked to read from the script.

Substitute Dreams: A New Musical is a two-person musical (with one additional featured actor) in development for an upcoming New York run.

Actors cast as Matthew and Morgan must both possess strong acting ability with a great amount of heart, humanity, and strength - as they represent the human struggle between success and sacrifice in the artistic lifestyle. Both actors must also have the ability to "age" throughout the course of the musical.

Matthew: 25-32. Morgan's best friend. Charming, an "artsy" photographer who is highly talented and driven. Progresses from struggling artist to world class photographer throughout the musical; physical appearance transitions from slightly unkempt and chubby to svelte and dressed in couture. Strong bari-tenor - with high A and solid falsetto.

Morgan: 25-32. Matthew's best friend. Like-able with an edge. Comic timing. A gifted fashion designer. Progresses from polished fashionista to practical soccer mom/teacher throughout the musical. Physical appearance transitions from slim and overdressed to "comfort-first" and round around the edges. Strong mezzo with high belt.

The Man: 28-40. Experienced actor. Striking, a demeanor that is enticing and frightening all at once. This character does not sing.

Rehearses: April 20 and April 30. Reading will take place on May 1.

NYC auditions will be held on March 30 and 31, by appointment only.

For consideration, e-mail picture and resume to: Elizabeth Manning, Substitute Dreams Casting at: substitutedreams@ gmail.com
Deadline for submissions: March 24.
