We will be shooting a 12 part DVD series in Shreveport, LA for about 7 weeks starting the last week of August. The project is called "Rivka The Series" and is a period piece set in 64 AD (Biblical time). This project is being produced by Dean Film & Video and Louisiana Motion Pictures, for the Campus Crusade for Christ Ministries. We are looking for both male and female actors with a Middle Eastern look, but especially, dark hair & eyes. We will be in need of bearded men or men wiling to grow a beard if necessary for the role. Long dark hair on women will also be a plus. This is a non-union, non-SAG production. All of the roles listed below are paid positions based on a day rate to be determined. If selected, actors will need to be available for shooting from Aug 22 - Mid October, 2009.
Location - Casting calls will be held at 600 Common St. Shreveport, LA 71101, in the Credit Bureau of the South building.
Times - Saturday, June 20th - Closed/Scheduled calls starting at 3:00 pm - (Call 901-438-3456 to schedule a call time)
Sunday, June 21st - Open call from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
What to bring - Please bring your headshots or a recent photo (preferably close up) AND your resume for us to keep. You may also leave a demo reel with us, if you wish.
The story centers around the following family living in a Judean village:
Moussa - (Age 45-60) The father, a stone cutter
Laila - (Age 43+55) The mother, Moussa's wife
Sara - (Age 21-26) Their oldest daughter, pregnant and married to Ayoub
Dawud - (Age 18-24) Their older son, unmarried and a sheep herder, somewhat of a rebel
Mariam - (Age 15-19) Their younger daughter, unmarried, but gets married later to Youssef
Noah - (Age 7-10) Their younger son, pleasant, helpful
Ayoub - (Age 25-30) Son in law, married to Sara, a sheep herder
Their Neighbors:
Rivka - (Age 40-50) Main character, married to Haroon the tax collector, wealthy but cares for others by nursing people in the village back to health, telling others about Jesus. She is beautiful, wise, and a very good friend to the family above.
Haroon - (Age 45-60) Married to Rivka, he is a tax collector and very much disliked by the people in the village. Wealthy and unfriendly.
Debra - (Age 18-30) Rivka's servant girl. (Non-speaking role)
Noura - (Age 50-60) Poor neighbor who is a widow. (female)
Youssef - (Age 18-24) Eventually marries Mariam. He is a farmer.
Abram - (Age 45-60) Youssef's father.
Daliya - (Age 15-19) Friend of Mariam. (female)
Titus - (Age 25-35) Roman Soldier (male)
