Red Tide Synopsis
After years in prison, Alex Nikoladi is returning home. And like his recent past, the town he grew up in has fallen on hard times. Tarpon Springs, was once a thriving seaside community with a rich Greek heritage and a lucrative sea sponging trade. But a “red tide” killed off the sponge beds and has left the local economy in ruin. Lethargy, poverty and despair have been a breeding ground for an underworld of drugs and crime to flourish, and Alex returns to find his home and his older brother, John in bad shape. To keep the local drug lord at bay, John has had to go to work selling oxycodone and cocaine, and worse, was forced to sell their father’s sponging boat. The thought of returning to that boat and sailing far away was the one thing that kept Alex going in the slammer, and now it is fenced off in dry dock. Alex would leave Tarpon for good, if not for three things; he’s broke, his brother needs him, and he’s falling for Allison, his brother’s long-suffering fiancée. Alex walks a thin line, trying to keep himself from being drawn too far into this dark world, but to save his brother, he makes a deal to work for the drug lord, just long enough to pay off the debt and get the boat back. But the harder he tries to save his brother, the further he is pulled back into a life of crime and violence. As Alex and Allison grow closer, together they enact a daring plan to save John, but only John can decide if he wants to be saved, or if he wants to drown in a red tide of drug addiction.
Character Descriptions:
Alex Nikoladis - (Male 25-30) wants to be a good person. He's learned some hard lessons in the past year. He's a rebel who hasn't lost his bad boy charm, but he wants to keep it clean, legal, and safe from now on. The youngest son is ready to grow up and be a man, in the image of his father.
John Nikoladis – (Male 30-35) has lost control. Drug addiction runs his life. His younger brother doesn't trust him, and his fiancée is falling out of love with him. He can't keep track of his own lies anymore. His normally strong will is breaking under stress, and he's looking for a way out.
Allison – (Female 25-30) wants to be loved. She is young enough to think she'll live forever, pretty enough to get by on her looks, but the darkening romantic drama she fills her mind with can no longer mask the meaninglessness of her life. She needs something to believe in. She needs a way out of drugs. And after that she'd like some peace and quiet.

Looking for actors for a short film (20-25 minutes in length) produced by students from Crown College. The actors would be needed for filming May 13-14.
Auditions will be held Monday, May 4, from 8-11am, at NFocus Studios in Lakeland, Florida. If interested, please reply to this ad for the studio address and further information.

1) Michael Harris: father figure, plays ages 30 and 44, probably 6' to 6'3", strong build, quiet, profound, fun-loving

We are seeking male and female actors and actors who sing well. All applicants must have movement abilities.
For actors who sing well: The audition will be Monday, May 11th by appointment only. To receive an appointment, applicants must mail in a headshot and resume. Applicants given an audition time must present the following:

Red Tide Synopsis
After years in prison, Alex Nikoladi is returning home. And like his recent past, the town he grew up in has fallen on hard times. Tarpon Springs, was once a thriving seaside community with a rich Greek heritage and a lucrative sea sponging trade. But a “red tide” killed off the sponge beds and has left the local economy in ruin. Lethargy, poverty and despair have been a breeding ground for an underworld of drugs and crime to flourish, and Alex returns to find his home and his older brother, John in bad shape. To keep the local drug lord at bay, John has had to go to work selling oxycodone and cocaine, and worse, was forced to sell their father’s sponging boat. The thought of returning to that boat and sailing far away was the one thing that kept Alex going in the slammer, and now it is fenced off in dry dock. Alex would leave Tarpon for good, if not for three things; he’s broke, his brother needs him, and he’s falling for Allison, his brother’s long-suffering fiancée. Alex walks a thin line, trying to keep himself from being drawn too far into this dark world, but to save his brother, he makes a deal to work for the drug lord, just long enough to pay off the debt and get the boat back. But the harder he tries to save his brother, the further he is pulled back into a life of crime and violence. As Alex and Allison grow closer, together they enact a daring plan to save John, but only John can decide if he wants to be saved, or if he wants to drown in a red tide of drug addiction.
Character Descriptions:
Alex Nikoladis - (Male 25-30) wants to be a good person. He's learned some hard lessons in the past year. He's a rebel who hasn't lost his bad boy charm, but he wants to keep it clean, legal, and safe from now on. The youngest son is ready to grow up and be a man, in the image of his father.
John Nikoladis – (Male 30-35) has lost control. Drug addiction runs his life. His younger brother doesn't trust him, and his fiancée is falling out of love with him. He can't keep track of his own lies anymore. His normally strong will is breaking under stress, and he's looking for a way out.
Allison – (Female 25-30) wants to be loved. She is young enough to think she'll live forever, pretty enough to get by on her looks, but the darkening romantic drama she fills her mind with can no longer mask the meaninglessness of her life. She needs something to believe in. She needs a way out of drugs. And after that she'd like some peace and quiet.
